Jess' Top 3 hair and makeup and skin items

These are my three favourite makeup, hair and skin products. Although my favourites may change fairly often these items I have used many times and repurchased, and for this reason they are in my top 3.

MaxFactor Creme Puff Powder
Item -Pressed Powder
Brand -Max Factor
Price -Around £5
To me this item is the most essential to complete a look. I cant imagine using any other powder out there, of all i've tried Max Factor have the best colour match for my skin (nouveau beige 13). When wearing this I don't need wear foundation because this has such good coverage and last for a good 6 hours. The powder comes with a sponge applicator but you may prefer a brush.

John Frieda Frizz Ease

Item -Hair serums
Brand -John Frieda
Price -£3.99~6.99
I have tried most products in this range and love them all. On the days I wear my hair with natural curls all I need is the extra strength serum I would recommend that you use more than it tells you to use depending on length and thickness. They also have products for you if you have straight frizzy hair or need heat protection.

Vaseline Body Moisturiser

Item -Moisturiser
Brand -Vaseline
Price -£5 (400ml)
And finally for skin how could I not choose Vaseline body moisturiser. I know I am not alone when I say this is the best moisturiser high street and high end. The thing I like most about this product is the subtleness of the smell, when wearing this it smells nice but to strong or overpowering that it interferes with my body mist/spray. My personal favourite is COCOA RADIANT. When I tried Aloe vera it come out a bit pale on my skin.
If this product isn't for you I would also recommend Body shop moisturising cream it's a lot thicker.

Homemade Masks

So today we decided that we would share something that we do most weekends and that is making face masks!
The best ways to keep your skin fresh looking is by:

  • getting at least 8 hours sleep minimum
  • have at least 5 glasses of water a day and eat veggies
  • wear SPF on your skin to stop skin damage as much as possible
  • always cleanse your skin as it doesn't strip your skin
  • moisturise your skin to make sure it looks its best
For oily skin:
Ingredients:

  • 1 banana preferably ripe
  • 1 tbsp honey
  • 1 orange or lemon
Preparation:

  • mix the banana and the honey
  • add a few drops of the honey or lemon and
  • mix
  • put onto the face for fifteen minutes
  • rinse

For dry skin:
Ingredients:

  • 1 egg yolk
  • 1tsp runny honey
  • 1tsp of olive oil
  • Vitamin oil (optional)
Preparation:

  • mix the egg yolk, honey and oil
  • add vitamin E oil if you have it
  • smooth on
  • leave for fifteen minutes
  • rinse in lukewarm water
  • pat dry
If your skin is dry add olive oil onto skin after washing your face to add moisture

Vinegar facial mask:
Ingredients:

  • 1/4 cup of Cider vinegar
  • 1/4 cup of water
Preparation:

  • Simply mix together
  • apply to face for 15-20 minutes and you have a facial at home
Oatmeal facial mask:
Ingredients:

  • water
  • oatmeal
  • 2 tbsp of plain yogurt
  • 2 tbsp of honey
  • 1 small egg white

Preparation:

  •  prepare 1/2 cup hot—not boiling—water and 1/3 cup oatmeal.
  • After the water and oatmeal have settled for two or three minutes, mix in 2 tablespoons plain yogurt, 2 tablespoons honey, and 1 small egg white.
  • Apply a thin layer of the mask to your face
  •  let it sit for 10 to 15 minutes.
  •  Then rinse with warm water. (Be sure to place a metal or plastic strainer in your sink to avoid clogging the drain with the granules.)
If you don't have the ingredients or the time to make a face mask you could use:
  • Lush face masks -Cupcake a chocolate cleanse and clarify is one of their best .
  • Origins or Sephora also have luxury masks for exfoliating, hydrating and moisturising
